A heat sink is a device used to dissipate heat. This is where the radiator is needed. The heat sink is a layer of good heat-conducting medium attached to the heat-generating device, which acts like a middleman.
Sometimes a fan and other things are added to the heat-conducting medium to speed up the heat dissipation effect.

Types Of Heat Sinks

The working principle of the heat sink is that the heat is generated from the heating equipment to the radiator and then to the air and other substances, where the heat is transferred through the heat transfer in thermodynamics.
The heat transfer methods mainly include heat conduction, heat convection and heat radiation. For example, as long as there is a temperature difference when a substance is in contact with a substance, heat transfer will occur until the temperature is the same everywhere. The heat sink takes advantage of this point, such as using good heat-conducting materials, and the thin and large fin-like structure increases the contact area and heat conduction speed from the heat-generating device to the heat sink to air and other substances.
